Student Life

Involvement is a prerequisite for growth.

horizontal rule

Classroom:

Teachers employ various teaching techniques such as the hands on practical approach, visual examples as well as lecture. This encourages all students to learn in a way best suited to their learning style.

Internship:

North Texas School of Massage is different from other schools because all internship massages are performed in private rooms. North Texas School of Massage also provides all supplies and equipment. We intend that the student be trained both in the classroom and through practical experience. Private rooms allow the student to experience and professionally handle the various situations that occur.  A full time private internship is superior. We maintain a large client base that may book massage appointments year around. Private internship rooms simulate the real world of massage therapy, giving the student the opportunity to learn in a safe, realistic environment.

Many other schools offer internships only during limited months and times because the "internship clinic" is also used as the classroom.  Some school internship clinics are open year around, but located in one large room.  In other schools students must provide the massage tables, oil and sheets. In these ward type settings, massages are performed next to other interns also performing massages.  This is inferior; specifically because of the lack of client privacy as the client gets on and off the massage table.  Music, lighting and temperature cannot be modified to meet individual client preference in ward settings.   It is no wonder students have transferred to our school to complete their internship because at North Texas School of Massage all equipment and supplies are provided including the clientele, and every intern massage is performed in a private room. Registered Clinic:

After receiving a license a limited number of graduates may work at the NTSSM registered clinic. This may allow graduates to enter the work force, with no further investment and virtually no risk.

Other students start their own business or work in a preexisting clinic, doctor’s office, hospital, spa, resort, salon, gym or one of the many other existing alternative health opportunities.
